Plastic Items in Magickal Use

video

Okay I've been gone a while AGAIN, so I'm offering you this video of Iris crawling for your forgiveness.

So how are you all?

The Year of Conservation is starting off well. But we are more broke than ever. Hmm. Makes me start to think that this naming of the year is sort of like a spell. I tell the universe "Less Less" and that's what I get? So I'm going to have to remedy that with some clarifying spellwork. Maybe a prosperity spell would be good.

I have this witchy friend who I converse with daily about magick and art. She is a great artist and has some really interesting ideas and I want to share with you.

Well first of all, she's done a lot of art magick. She'll draw a picture, empower it, maybe carry it with her, bless with herbs and salt, etc. I like this! I want to try that. Any of you do that?

Now seeing as we both work with miniatures, she brought up the idea of using dolls to create magick. Maybe she was just inspired by my new witchy shop on my doll site: http://anotherdayanotherdolly.weebly.com (the first page).

This method of magick would be great for me! I'm already in the barbie room the minute the baby goes to sleep. I could grab a doll that looks like me, put her in a tub of tiny paper money (hee hee) or similar. BUUUUT, in all my magickal workings, I've always stayed away from anything plastic as well as anything electrical.

So I'd love to hear your perspective here. Is plastic have sort of "dead" energy? Can energy penetrate it? I'd love to hear your ideas about barbie magick! I think about all the veneers that must be on our tarot cards or fancy wooden boxes. So maybe plastic wouldn't be totally alone on my altar...

Okay my friends, that's all for now, but I will try to be a little better at communicating!

Hey are you guys on facebook? Find me there so you can see new pics of Iris: http://www.facebook.com/daniellelesperanceramirez

Blessings!
Dani

Hey, sweets. The issue of plastic has come up with me before. In fact, I'm reading a book right now which loses its mind over plastic in magic use.

For me, I try to avoid using plastic, but sometimes it can't be helped. All the stones and threads I use in my charms are in plastic bags. Someday, I hope to use glass or sew fabric bags for them, but I can barely keep up with my laundry, kwim?

For you, because you attach so much meaning and pour your creative energy into the miniatures and dolls, I can't help but think that plastic would be a fine medium for you. And after all, plastic comes from petroleum, even if there are a lot of steps in between. At some point in time, plastic was organic, right?

This post really inspired me. I'm going to write a post based on it on the new blog I'm working on, "Divining Women." I'd love for you to come on over and check us out.

Oh my gods, Iris is already crawling??!! Holy Mother, it was like yesterday that she was born and I sent that goddess doll! LOL She looks absolutely lovely in this video, thanks for sharing!

Hmm... Plastic... I do avoid using it, but in your case, with the Barbie dolls, it's kind of different in my opinion, because actually you'll be working with other things on your dolls, the plastic is only the body of the doll. The clothes, ornaments, everything can be used with other materials, you know what I mean? What you do to cover the doll's body is what matter, I think. Oh and there's so much you can do! Specific colors, crystals, herbs, I bet they'll look gorgeous and powerful!

It's great to hear fro you again, you completely forgiven after watching this video! LOL Just kidding...

Beijos e amor de mim e de Lucas.

PS: You're inmy head many times these days, we're in Carnival time, you know? Some day in the future you need to visit us here! :o)
